With Halloween falling on a Wednesday this year, many celebrations kick off this Halloweekend and we’re helping you shake up a little festive fear with five of our favorite creepy cocktails.
Pomegranate juice adds a tinge more tartness and a seasonal tone to this popular cocktail.
1.5oz Citrus Vodka
.5oz Cointreau (or your preferred orange liquor)
1oz Cranberry Juice
.5oz Pomegranate Juice
.5oz Fresh squeezed lime juice
Combine the vodka, Cointreau, lime juice, cranberry juice, and pomegranate juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, cover, and shake until chilled. Strain into a glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Complete with a glow-in-the-dark eyeball ice cube for good measure!
Brandied cherries complete the dark look for this classic, which stands out in our skull goblet.
2oz Bourbon or Rye
1oz Sweet Vermouth
A Couple Dashes of Bitters
1 Cup Ice Cubes
Top with Brandied Cherries
Combine bourbon or rye, vermouth, and bitters. Add the ice and stir. Strain into a festive glass and garnish with deathly black brandied cherries.
Blood Orange Mummosa
Start the weekend off right with a spooky brunch! Blood oranges provide a deeper color and unique flavor and look great alongside other scary treats.
1 Bottle Dry Sparkling Wine
1 1/2 Cups Blood Orange Juice
1 tbs Agave or Simple Syrup
Chill the sparkling wine ahead of time. Combine blood orange juice with simple syrup and stir. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. To serve, pour the orange mixture into champagne glasses and slowly top with sparkling wine.
Apparition Apple Cider
An excellent choice for sophisticated moonlit parties — this sweet and smoky cocktail is made for the mezcal lovers.
.75oz Fresh Lime Juice
3oz Apple Cider
Dash of Agave or Simple Syrup
1 Sprig of Fresh Mint
1 Cinnamon Stick (optional)
Combine mezcal, apple cider, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker, and shake or stir until combined. Add a dash of agave or simple syrup if desired. Fill a glass with ice and pour in the mixture. Serve with mint and a cinnamon stick.
Monster Mash Mocktail
This one’s for the little ghouls (though who’s stopping big ones?) — a classic worms and dirt dessert to cap off the night.
2 (3.9 ounce) Packages Instant Chocolate Pudding
4 Cups Milk (for making the pudding)
1 1/2 – 2 Cups Chocolate Cookie Crumbs
1-2 (3oz) Packages Gummy Worms
8 Festive Serving Cups like our Sugar Skull Glasses (pictured)
Crush the chocolate cookies into crumbs. Whisk the chocolate pudding mix and milk in a bowl and stir for 2 minutes. Add a spoonful of the cookie crumbs into each cup, and spoon the chocolate pudding over the crumbs. Top with the remaining cookie crumbs and gummy worms. Refrigerate for at least 5 minutes or until serving.
