The Truth is, we can eliminate smoking in our world, and it starts with you.
Unfortunately, most of us know someone who has succumbed to a disease caused by smoking; an addiction that’s triggered by a choice, delivering an outcome that’s truly avoidable. On Great American Smokeout Day we want to focus on the cold hard truth, and your choice towards positivity – whether for yourself or for a loved one.
With empowering campaigns making powerful progress with initiatives like The Truth, American Cancer Society, and The Real Cost, becoming a quitter in this sense, is achievable. In 2000, 23% of teens smoked – that number is consistently decreasing and is at 8% today. According to the CDC, the number of American smokers was 17.8% in 2013, down from 20.9% in 2005. We can do this together.
Nominate someone you admire who has changed their life by quitting smoking, who has helped to lower those statistics we stated above. Comment here, or on our Facebook post, telling us who you’re nominating and 1 – 2 sentences why; one winner will be chosen to receive a gift bag including everything needed to continue their healthy lifestyle. Winner will be chosen Monday, November 23rd, 2015, at 11 am EST (US residents only).
